Cross Borneo is the heavy jungle trekking in the tropical rainforest of Borneo. The journey will pass a hilly and mountainous area crossing the border of West to East Kalimantan. Cross Borneo is the activity that follows a historical expedition route of a Dutch botanist, DR. Anton W. Niewenhius in 1894.

The vegetation in the jungle is diverse and therefore you encounter different animals at different locations. Borneo has a very wet climate, the hydrology in the expedition area is unique with hundreds of streams. Two famous rivers* on each side will offer different landscapes, and adventure experiences.

1 15:00 Putussibau Arrival in Putussibau. Our staff brings you to Restaunrant. After that, Check in the Hotel.[Free program] Restaurant / Dinner
2 08:00 Departure from the boat station by longboat. The trip also passes some longhouses of Dayak Taman, shifting cultivation area (ladang), and traditional fruits garden. Lunch on the river bank. River Bank / Breakfast, Lunch
16:00 Nanga Bungan Arrival at the Nanga Bungan village. You can explore this little village. Na.Bungan / Dinner, Breakfast
3 08:00 After breakfast, Departure to Tanjung Lokang.
12:00 Bungan River The trip will spend 2,5 hour if the river is flooded. But in the dry season, you have to walk on the shallow river by stepping on the rocks pulling the boat in about 6-7 hours. River Bank / Lunch
16:00 Tanjung Lokang Arrival at Tanjung Lokang. Rest. Tanjung Lokang / Dinner, Breakfast
4 08:00 Start the Jungle Trekking to direct to Kahung cave.
12:00 Kahung Cave In the cave we can find an old cemetery of Dayak Punan. Some sculls available. Kahung cave / Lunch
16:00 Bulit River Construct the bivouac type shelters made by wood and waterproof awning on the riverside. Meals will be provided in a simple and traditional way in the jungle. Camp / All
5 08:00 After breakfast, continue Jungle Trekking. Streams are acting as alternative footpaths, which sometimes result in wading - waist and chest high.
16:00 Borakan River Build flying camp. Some clear rivers or streams are routine place to construct bivouac.
6 08:00 Trekking will continue again. but it is never boring. There are always new development. Preparing the meals.
16:00 Lea River Built flying camp. The night site will decide on trekking pace.
7 08:00 After breakfast, the trekking will enter the Muller range. The frontier between the Kapuas and Mahakam is located a fairly low altitude. The maximum altitude of the crossing is estimated less than 1500 meters.
16:00 Muller Mountain Built flying camp. Night site to be decided based on trekking pace.
8 08:00 The journey will be continued through the tropical rain forest, If you are lucky, you can meet Borneo's animals.
12:00 Border of District The border of West & East Kalimantan. Take a rest and Lunch.
16:00 Ovan Tanah Build flying camp. This name's meaning is "flat area".
9 08:00 After breakfast, continue the jungle trekking.
16:00 Batu Vahat Build flying camp. The night site to decide on trekking pace.
10 08:00 After breakfast, continue following the historical route.
12:00 Saite River Rest point. After lunch, The trekking follows the Mahakam River.
16:00 Huvung River Jungle Trekking comes to the end. Build flying camp.
11 08:00 The team asks to local people, to go to the Tiong Ohang Village by their boat, "Ces". Huvung River estuary is vigorous as a point of the river traffic of local farmers.
11:00 Tiong Ohang Arrival at the Tiong Ohang village. After Lunch, Explore the village. Tiong Ohang / All
12 - After breakfast, Explore the Tiong Ohang, its culture and art, and the livelihood of Aoheng peoples.[Free Program]
13 08:00 After breakfast, Departure for the Long Bagun village by Longboat (Public transpotation).
12:00 Mahakam River The upper Mahakam river will offer you a boating adventure through big rapids. River Bank / Lunch
17:00 Long Bagun Arrive at Long Bagun village. Long Bagun / Dinner, Breakfast
14 - After breakfast, the tour will continue by the Houseboat (Public transpotation).
15 - House Boat The river cruise on the Houseboat continues. House Boat / All
16 - Samarinda Trip to Barikpapan by bus. Samarinda

  • You will get wet on the boat. Please protect your baggage.
  • There is no bathroom is in the Jungle. For women, it is recommended to bring sarong(traditional bathwear for women) to bath in the river.
  • There is no electricity.
  • This tour depend on the weather. If needed, the tour will possibly be edited.
